Surviving Spouses

THIS PAGE IS UNDERDEVELOPMENT

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) provides extensive resources for surviving spouses, offering advocacy, financial guidance, and community through publications, webinars, and virtual chapters, focusing on accessing benefits like SBP/DIC, updating DEERS for TRICARE, understanding survivor benefits, and navigating career/life changes, with key steps including contacting DFAS and updating ID. MOAA helps with benefits navigation, legislative updates (like the "widows tax"), and connecting with other survivors for support, emphasizing proactive planning and access to essential resources.

Surviving Spouse Liaison

Surviving Spouse Liaisons work at the Council and Chapter level to ensure fellow survivors remain connected to the military family and participate in local and national programs and advocacy efforts. Connie Richardson serves as the Susquehanna Chapter's Surviving Spouse Liaison. You may contact Connie through the Chapter website at info@moaasusquehanna.org
