Mission

The Chapter promotes the purposes and objectives of MOAA; fosters fraternal relations among the retired, active, and former officers of the eight uniformed services of the United States (Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Public Health Service) and their National Guard or reserve components; protects the rights and interests of, and provides useful services for, these personnel of the uniformed services and their family members and survivors; and serves the community and the nation.

Chapter Activities

The Chapter has several dinner meetings each year with guest speakers from state and local government, health care specialists, legal specialists and other topics of interest to the membership. Each summer we have a gathering, which creates an informal atmosphere and additional opportunity for fellowship. We support military related organizations and causes, e.g., Perry Point VA Medical Center. Our members make themselves available for programs on military history and to share their military experiences.

Legislative Issues

The Chapter actively supports legislative efforts in the United States Congress to improve health care, provide survivor benefits and Concurrent Receipt which would preclude subtraction of disability pay from retirement pay. We are working with the Maryland MOAA Council, the Maryland Retired Veterans Task Force, and the Maryland General Assembly to obtain exclusion of military retired pay from Maryland and local income tax.

General Information

Chapter meetings vary in format and location. Information is announced via our email newsletter, The Beacon. All Regular, Surviving spouse and Honorary members receive the newsletter via email or postal mail.
