Chapter Information

This Chapter was formed in 1968, and formally affiliated with the National Association in October 1969. Back then it was the Retired Officers Association.  As such, the Chapter precedes the requirement imposed by the National Association that Chapter members must be members of The Military Officers Association of America. This Chapter has been grandfathered by the National Association from this requirement.

Additionally, this Chapter is in Harford County, Maryland, the site of the Bush River Declaration of 1775. This declaration was the first written call for independence from Great Britain, and in signing it our forefathers pledged their lives and fortunes to secure independence for this country.

In honor of the wisdom of our Chapter's founding members, and in tribute to the spirit of independence fostered in this county, the Susquehanna Chapter jealously cherishes its exception to the membership requirements of the National Association.  However, we do encourage all our members to join the nation’s largest and most influential association of military officers.
