The Susquehanna Chapter of MOAA has resurrected the Facebook PAGE and has created a new Facebook PRIVATE GROUP. So, let’s review the chapter’s three forms of Web presence/social media…

Once logged in to your Facebook account, type “Susquehanna Chapter, MOAA” in the Facebook search bar. You will know you have the correct page when you see this cover photo:

3) A chapter Facebook PRIVATE GROUP:    

Once logged in to your Facebook account type “Susquehanna Chapter, MOAA (Private Group)” in the Facebook search bar.  You will know you have the correct private group when you see this cover photo:

A Facebook page is simply for the chapter to publish general information. Think of it as a profile for an organization and it is viewable by anyone on Facebook.

A Facebook private group, however, is an assembly of persons gathered for a designated purpose, in our case, it is for the presentation and discussion of items relevant to the business of the Susquehanna Chapter of MOAA. Participation (becoming a member of the Facebook private group) must be approved by an administrator of the private group. Only members of the group can see who's in the group and what they post to the group.

If you are an active (paid) member of the Susquehanna Chapter of MOAA and wish to join the chapter’s Facebook private group, log in to your Facebook account, navigate to the Facebook private group by searching for it in the Facebook search bar as indicated above, and then click on the blue “Join group” button.

You will then see the prompt, “This private group is for active members of the Susquehanna Chapter of MOAA. Please state your full name as it appears on the membership rolls and your membership will be verified by the group administrator.”

Type your full name in the response box and submit. An administrator of the private group will verify your active (paid) membership in the chapter and approve your request to join the private group.
